Lakeside is an amusement park operating since 1908 in Denver Colorado. My friend Michelle moved to Denver and waited for my boyfriend and I to visit and explore this gem of a place. We paid our three dollars and wander around a sea of old neon signs. The rides looked like they were held together with bubblegum and paperclips, which only made me love Lakeside more. A photographer, a videographer, and a graphic designer; we weren't there to ride. When entering we saw " no camera signs" , which did nothing to stop me from whipping out my Holga and double exposing all over the place. Film photographs were perfect for this place and double exposure boasted the dreamlike quality of Lakeside. The park gave me the feeling I constantly search for with photography and could only be described as nostalgic. If you are ever in Denver and you have an extra three dollars I would highly recommend a Lakeside visit.
